What are cookies?
A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to your internet browser from a website’s computers and stored on your computer or mobile device. Each website can send its own cookie to your internet browser if your internet browser’s preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your internet browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other websites.
Cookies will help the website to recognise your device the next time you visit. For example, they allow me to analyse how well my website is performing, or even allow me to recommend content I believe will be most relevant to you.
Most cookies won’t collect information that identifies you, and will instead collect more general information such as how users arrive at and use this website.
What sort of cookies does JonathanHuxley.com use?
1. Essential cookies
Some cookies are essential for the operation of this website. For example some cookies allow me to recognise the searches you have performed on my website and to provide you with information relevant to those searches. If you opt to disable these cookies, your search may not operate correctly.
2. Performance Cookies
I utilise other cookies to analyse how my visitors use my website and to monitor website performance. This allows me to provide a high quality experience by customising my website to your needs. For example, I might use performance cookies to keep track of which pages are most popular, which method of linking between pages is most effective, and to determine why some pages are receiving error messages. I might also use these cookies to highlight other website services that I think will be of interest to you based on your usage of this website.
3. Behaviourally Targeted Advertising Cookies
I do not allow third-party advertisements to be displayed on my website so no advertising cookies are used anywhere on the website.
4. Third Party Cookies
Social sharing, and other services I may offer from time to time, are run by other companies. These companies may drop cookies on your computer when you use them on this site or if you are already logged in to them.
